In contrast to the strawberry salads with fruits, which are primarily used as dessert, these recipes can be given as a side dish for lunch or dinner.
They go well with almost any meal and give an exotic touch to it. Furthermore, the salty strawberry salads are great "stand-alone" meals. They are perfect for buffet or garden parties and they are not much work.
How about sneaking in some healthy lettuce, while your family thinks they're eating sweet fruits?
I love that recipe and it has become an almost daily lunch for me.
The main advantage is it has only three ingredients, takes less than five minutes to prepare and has the perfect mixture of sweet and hearty.
You'll love it too!
Tear lettuce into bite size pieces. Peal and slice cucumber. Slice onions into small pieces.
Cut strawberries into quarters (or small pieces if you prefer).
Pour dressing ingredients into a sealable container and shake to mix. Put dressing over salad just before serving. Enjoy!
Preheat oven to 400° F. Put pretzels, margarine and sugar in a 9x13x2-inch pan. Bake 8 minutes. Remove to cool.
Beat sugar into cheese, stir in whipped topping. Spread over cooled pretzels.
Mix gelatin, boiling water and strawberries together and set aside 10 minutes. Pour over cheese mixture; chill thoroughly.
