Natural Skin Care

How Using All Natural Organic Skin Care Products Can Benefit You
By Amanda J. Lawson

If you're like me, living green is extremely important. Unfortunately, words like "organic" and "all natural" are used as marketing terms that much of it tends to be false advertising. Lately I've been paying attention to lots of advertisements, and I've found whether it's for all natural organic skin care or for food, people tend to slap that label on all manners of things, whether or not they're actually natural and good for you. This is why it's crucial that you double check your product to make sure what you're getting is really what it says it is.

I've grown to learn that not only is it all but impossible to live a completely natural lifestyle, but that adding science to the mix can actually be very beneficial toward making products beneficial for your skin.

As nice as the idea is to use an all natural organic skin care product that are untouched by human interference, some scientific involvement is necessary in order to ensure we get the most out of the natural ingredients we use. These days, skincare experts around the world have learned how to do this in a way that isn't harmful toward your skin or the environment.

These ingredients are often found in small specialty skincare stores and websites. Every good all natural organic skin care product uses natural ingredients that are scientifically tested on human volunteers. This way they are officially proven to make your skin firm, youthful, and healthy.

However, not all skin products use ingredients like these. Some use harsh chemicals that can irritate your skin and trigger allergies, such as dyes and fragrances. Others have ingredients in them that are actually carcinogenic, such as parabens.

Fortunately, I know of many useful substances found in many effective creams and lotions that will help keep your skin healthy and looking beautiful.

Phytessence wakame is derived from a unique species of Japanese sea kelp. Not only does it naturally protect your skin from sunburn, but it's also rich in hyaluronic acid, a useful bonding agent used in keeping important skin proteins like collagen and elastin together.

Using natural emollients in your skincare products is also extremely important for healthy skin. Unfortunately, not all natural oils are created equal. Mineral oil, for example, clogs your pores and makes it difficult for your skin to expel toxins.

Fortunately, I know of many natural oils that are wonderful for your skin.

Babassu is a wonderful emollient for keeping your skin soft, smooth, and fresh. It's especially beneficial for sensitive areas such as the eyelids.

Avocado oil is a potent moisturizer that penetrates past the first layer of your skin. It's also scientifically proven to boost levels of collagen.

Contrary to its name, shea butter isn't edible. This substance helps keep your skin soft and hydrated. It is also very useful in soothing inflamed, angry skin as well as softening the appearance of age spots, blotchiness, and scars.
