For me this is a very special time of the year and I always remember the Christmas days when I was still a kid. It definitely was the best time of the year, with all the goodies and waiting for the "big day", when we would light the candles on the tree, sing t he Christmas songs and finally get our presents :-)

Christmas Strawberries


  • 2 packages strawberry flavored gelatin
  • 1 can (350ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups (500ml)flaked coconut
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (125g) red decorator sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60g) green decorator sugar
  • 2 ounces (56g) slivered almonds
Serves 2 dozen.


Blend together the gelatin and condensed milk. Add coconut and vanilla; mix well and refrigerate until chilled.

Roll into small balls and shape into strawberries; roll in red sugar crystals. Dip fat end into green sugar crystals. Place an almond sliver into the fat end for a stem.

To prevent hardening, store in an air tight container until ready to serve.
